About The Position

RS&H is seeking to hire a CDL Training Instructor to join our team in the Moving I-4 Forward, Florida Construction Academy facility in Kissimmee, FL. This is an embedded position reporting to the office 5 days per week. This role is responsible for delivering hands-on and classroom instruction in commercial driving and construction trades, preparing trainees for successful careers in the infrastructure industry. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, highway construction, or related field.
  • Valid CDL Class A License with a clean driving record.
  • Experience delivering training or mentoring in a workforce development or technical education setting.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Ability to operate and instruct on heavy equipment and CDL vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with simulator-based training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in CDL Class A driving.
  • Teach general transportation construction practices, heavy equipment operation, and jobsite safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement curriculum aligned with OSHA, industry standards, and workforce development goals.
  • Monitor trainee progress, track certification hours, and provide individualized coaching and mentorship.
  • Prepare trainees for CDL exams through instruction in vehicle systems, mechanics, and pre-trip inspections.
  • Support job placement efforts through coordination with program staff and industry partners.
