CDL Trainee - Commercial Driver's License
About The Position
SafeStart CDL's paid training program is one of the only programs in NYC that pays you to become a licensed school bus driver. This is an 8-week structured program with intensive but manageable full days of classroom instruction, yard training, and road work designed to get you licensed fast. Unlike traditional schools, we pay you during training. You receive a weekly stipend so you can focus on learning without financial stress. The program is completely tuition-free with no loans or hidden fees. Your only job is to show up and succeed. Upon passing your road test and background checks, you will be on the road starting your career.
Requirements
- Must be able to attend full days of training.
- Must be able to show up and succeed in the program.
- Must pass background checks.
Responsibilities
- Complete 8-week structured training program including classroom instruction, yard training, and road work.
- Prepare for and obtain Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Prepare for and obtain School Bus (S) endorsement, including training on student management, emergency evacuation, and route compliance.
- Pass road test and background checks to secure employment.
