This role is for a CDL Tanker Driver at their new, state-of-the-art truck storage facility in Milton, WI. This is a regional driver position involving over-the-road driving and local single-day deliveries. Drivers average 40-55 hours per week with a varying schedule that may include weekend days, and they complete "hours resets" at home. Drivers are typically away from home 2-3 nights per week. CQC provides state-of-the-art equipment, including low mileage 2019 and newer tractors, and drivers are assigned a unit with a 76-inch sleeper. On average, drivers earn $105,000 per year working 50 hours per week, with a starting pay of $32.50/hr.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years old (DOT requirement)
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement
  • Must have a valid medical examiner's card
  • Must have an acceptable driving record
  • Minimum of 3 years verifiable tractor/trailer driving experience
  • Manual transmission shifting experience
  • Pass a pre-employment driving test
  • Pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and physical exam

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tanker loads from plant locations to customers with professionalism, ensuring personal and product safety and quality.
  • Support intercompany transfers and deliveries of dry products to CQC/Customers on an as-needed basis.
  • Inspect equipment before and after trips and submit reports on equipment condition.
  • Read bill of lading to determine routing assignments.
  • Perform checks to secure all cargo in the trailer during transit.
  • Load, unload, or assist in loading and unloading of bulk tanker trailer.
  • Obtain customer's signature for proof-of-delivery (POD).
  • Inventory and inspect product(s) to be transported.
  • Drive vehicles, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products.
  • Maneuver truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from material handlers.
  • Perform checks to assure the vehicle conforms to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain driver log according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Monitor the equipment’s service schedule and overall condition of the assigned tractor and trailers.
  • Notify supervisor when service is needed or required.
  • Assist in cleaning and returning equipment to service after completing loads, including trucks, trailers, and all equipment needed to unload product at the customer.
  • Enter trailers to conduct scheduled swabbing and installation of necessary components.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism on every load hauled.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor, following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance at work and work overtime as needed.
