About The Position

The Driver Shuttle RIF is a non-touch freight position responsible for pulling finished goods from the production plant and raw materials from the warehouse to the plant. Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work safely and securely
  • Ability to receive and follow instructions
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork, problem solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Ability to use dolly up and down 50 times per shift
  • Ability to enter and exit cab of tractor an average of 100 times daily
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all loads are picked up from the plant as they are loaded with no delays.
  • Ensure all trailers are always in place for both the plant and the warehouse for successful startups and shutdowns.
  • Ensure all deliveries for finished goods and raw materials are on time.
  • Ensure all paperwork and bills of lading are filled out correctly before pulling the loads.
  • Ensure all loads either going in or out of the plant are sealed.
  • Fill out and maintain daily inspection sheet for shuttle tractors/trailers and notify Service Department, Supervisors, and/or the Facility Manager of any problems.
  • Work in a productive manner with peers, management, and the customer to achieve facility productivity goals (12-14 loads pulled per shift, per driver).
  • Report lack of work and/or any production issues immediately to the supervisor and understand they will be expected to work in the warehouse as needed to maintain productivity for both the shuttle and warehouse.
  • Occasional Over the Road driving.
