CDL/Rigger Hybrid Role

SimsHD•Tampa, FL
•Onsite

About The Position

SimsHD is looking for experienced CDL Drivers who want to be part of a professional heavy-haul and machinery moving team. This role requires precision, teamwork, and pride in execution. The right candidate understands that moving oversized and industrial equipment safely requires both driving skill and jobsite capability. This role is ideal for drivers who enjoy being part of the entire operation — transporting, rigging, and delivering complex projects safely and professionally. As a CDL Driver / Rigger, you will support both the transportation and field execution of specialized equipment moves. This is a hands-on operational role, not a “drop-and-go” driving position. Most work is local or short-distance, and overnight travel is rare.

Requirements

  • Active and in good standing CDL
  • Proven truck driving experience with a focus on commercial driving and route delivery
  • Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and various trailer types including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, and roll-off trucks
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking and freight handling
  • Valid CDL License-Applications without CDL heavy haul experience will not be considered.
  • Experience hauling heavy equipment or oversized loads
  • Strong knowledge of load securement practices
  • Ability and willingness to work on active jobsites
  • Physical ability to assist with rigging and equipment setup
  • Strong safety mindset and professional work ethic
  • Candidates who are only interested in driving and not participating in jobsite work will not be a good fit for this role.
