About The Position

Rumpke is a family-owned and operated waste and recycling company focused on providing services to customers and communities through safety, service, environmental responsibility, and employee growth. Residential Front Load Drivers service customers on assigned routes by collecting and hauling waste or recycling materials to a disposal site or recycling plant. The role involves operating different trucks and requires strong driving and maneuvering skills. Drivers provide customer service, maintain route documentation and truck cleanliness, and follow applicable safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures. This position does not manage employees. Requirements

Have at least a valid Class B CDL.
Have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one before hire.
Be at least 19 years of age.
Have no more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
Have no DUI or OVI convictions within the last 5 years, or more than 1 within the last 10 years.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Have a valid driver’s license, if applicable.
Successfully complete pre-employment testing.
Be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Read and understand a map.
Drive all types of trucks in the residential fleet, with excellent truck driving and maneuvering skills.
Have general knowledge of truck mechanics.
Have good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
Meet the physical demands described, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 pounds at varying frequencies; working outdoors and around airborne matter; and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, walking, sitting, and standing.
Be able to travel between offices as required.
Be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Waste industry experience is a plus.
1–2 years of CDL truck driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate trucks safely and in compliance with requirements while collecting trash or recycling from customers and hauling it to a disposal site or recycling plant.
Pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings when required.
Return trash or recycling carts neatly to the curb or designated area.
Clean up waste spills and overflows.
Maintain and update route sheets.
Keep the truck cab clean.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete logs.
Interact professionally with internal and external customers and provide excellent customer service.
Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body while following proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
