About The Position
The CDL Bus Driver at Homewood Retirement Community is responsible for transporting residents to and from medical appointments, daily activities, and recreational activities, individually, and as groups. The Driver will be responsible for assisting residents on and off the vehicle, helping with bags and other personal items, and driving in all types of weather conditions and rural/residential areas.
Requirements
- Must maintain their CDL license (for driving the 23 passenger bus and larger)
- Able to drive the van/bus in rural or urban areas.
- Ability to drive the van/bus in a way that residents feel safe.
- Treats the residents with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
- Assisting residents on and off the vehicle
- Helping with bags and other personal items
- Driving in all types of weather conditions and rural/residential areas
- Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information.
- Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
- Operates all vehicles in a safe manner.
- Promptly reports any and all suspected mechanical problems to the Transportation Supervisor.
- Maintains an accurate trip and/or inspection report for each trip.
- Responsible for fueling vehicles after use.
