Requirements

Possession of an active Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed
Possession of an active Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations
Ability to perform essential job functions
Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from a Commercial Driver’s License Training School; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Nice To Haves

Ability to demonstrate successful operation of equipment with a manual transmission.

Responsibilities

Operate trucks, loaders, and other machinery used for roadway and bridge maintenance
Assist with equipment checks, manual labor, and safe work practices in various environments
Carry out flagging duties to guide drivers safely through work zones
Use hand tools and power tools to clear debris, cut vegetation, dig ditches, and repair signs and barriers
Make field adjustments, complete minor repairs, and assist mechanics with equipment needs
Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and help maintain a safe work environment
