Requirements

  • Possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
  • Possession of an active Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver Learner's Permit on the first day of work.
  • Possession of an active Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations by the first day of work.
  • Employees must demonstrate successful operation of equipment with a manual transmission.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to operate heavy trucks, loaders, and required construction equipment
  • Use motorized and non-motorized hand tools to complete maintenance tasks
  • Follow safety procedures, observe hazards, and report incidents immediately
  • Assist with manual labor such as cutting brush, cleaning culverts, and repairing roadway features
  • Perform pre and post operation inspections and make basic field adjustments
  • Develop familiarity with work rules, reporting procedures, and environmental requirements
