Requirements
- Possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent
- Possession of an active Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver Learner's Permit on the first day of work
- Possession of an active Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations by the first day of work
- Demonstrate successful operation of equipment with a manual transmission
- Able to perform essential job functions
Responsibilities
- Learn to operate heavy trucks, loaders, and other construction equipment safely and correctly
- Follow safety procedures, use protective equipment, and report hazards or incidents to supervisors
- Perform tasks using tools such as shovels, rakes, chainsaws, mowers, and patching machines
- Operate controls, use seat belts, and install or remove tire chains on dual-wheel vehicles
- Observe surroundings, make adjustments, and help maintain safe work areas for crews and the public
- Apply environmental protection requirements and complete assigned training for maintenance activities
