About The Position

In this role, you will receive training to operate heavy equipment and learn how to support important maintenance work that keeps roads safe for everyone. Requirements

  • Possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
  • All employees must possess an active Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver Learner's Permit on the first day of work.
  • All positions require employees to possess an active Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations by the first day of work.
  • Employees must demonstrate successful operation of equipment with a manual transmission.
  • Subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Regulations.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Train to operate trucks, loaders, and other construction equipment used in roadway maintenance
  • Learn to use motorized and non-motorized tools to support tasks such as patching, clearing brush, and repairing structures
  • Follow safety procedures, observe work areas, and report hazards, injuries, or unsafe practices
  • Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections and make basic adjustments to equipment
  • Assist with manual labor tasks and help maintain a safe environment for coworkers and the public
  • Carry out environmental protection steps required during maintenance activities
