CDL Fuel Driver/Reno, NV
About The Position
Maverik is hiring a safety-focused Class A CDL driver to transport fuel to its stores and communities in the Reno, Nevada area. This role offers year-round work and drivers are home daily. The operation runs 24/7, so delivery needs and conditions may vary. Training may last up to 30 days and is typically conducted on the day shift; after training, the driver transitions to the long-term PM shift. The PM schedule has start times between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM and follows a rotating schedule of five days on and two days off, then five days on and three days off. Shifts average 10–12 hours, with occasional longer days due to weather, traffic, or operations. Drivers use modern, well-maintained manual trucks and must understand Samsara and slip/shared truck seating. Work includes weekend, holiday, and all-weather driving, including winter conditions and chaining when necessary.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
- At least 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience.
- Recent experience operating a manual transmission.
- At least 21 years old.
- Clean motor vehicle record and a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and road test in a 13–18-speed manual transmission truck.
- Understanding of Samsara and slip/shared truck seating.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and in all weather conditions, including winter conditions and chaining when necessary.
- Ability to sit for long periods and perform the stated repetitive and frequent physical activities throughout a shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 75–100 pounds.
- Close, distance, and color vision, as well as depth perception.
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
