About The Position

Responsible and accountable for the operation, maintenance and repair of the physical structure of vehicles and services equipment/systems for the organizations perioperative services, in order to maintain a reliable, safe, cost effective and a physically appealing transportation entity.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age required.
  • Completion of vocational or driving school OR equivalent combination of education/experience in a technical setting related to vehicle operations combine (one year of education equals one year of experience) required.
  • Current CDL license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire required.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator license required.
  • Ability to meet and maintain insurability required.
  • Ability to provide safe operations of vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of greater than 26,001 pounds required.
  • Ability to provide safe operations of any vehicle that contains hazardous material during transportation between service areas required.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with tools and test instruments required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems and make decisions while working in stressful situations required.
  • Capable of communicating effectively (verbal and written) with patient care providers, patients, visitors, management and other staff required.
  • Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance functions and possesses strong written documentation skills required.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training in a CDL-B school specifically related to driving and maintenance preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience in a driving trade or in a technical role preferred.
  • Completion of maintenance training in diesel engines, pneumatic systems or refrigeration units preferred.
