We operate 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. Rogers Group is seeking an individual for the position of CDL Dump Truck Driver to be based out of Greer, SC, supporting operations throughout the Upstate of South Carolina and additional South Carolina job sites as needed. The successful candidate for this role must have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. This position will report to the Trucking Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Must maintain a valid CDL License.
  • Must meet company requirements to maintain a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of truck driving experience preferred.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and professional image.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful traffic or job site situations.
  • Ability to travel and support job sites throughout South Carolina as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating trucks equipped with third axle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck equipped with dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, asphalt, or paving materials.
  • Pre and post shift check of vehicle to ensure it is safe to operate.
  • Operates vehicle in a safe and professional manner regardless of location, speed limit, and traffic conditions.
  • Obeys all State and Federal trucking laws and regulations.
  • Exhibits defensive driving skills at all times.
  • Obeys weight limits when loading truck.
  • Keeps floorboards, stepping areas, and handholds free of trash, grease, rags, or other obstructions.
  • Operates controls for tarping loads and strapping tarps securely.
  • Tarps all loads regardless of material being hauled.
  • Operates dump bed controls for raising and lowering bed.
  • Operates controls for raising and lowering third axle when equipped.
  • Hooks and adjusts tailgate spreader chains for tailgating material.
  • Manually cleans tailgate and apron after unloading when required.
  • Keeps inside of truck bed clean of material buildup.
  • Monitors dash gauges and vehicle performance during operation.
  • Monitors surrounding conditions using mirrors and maintains awareness of traffic and job site hazards.
  • Maintains communication with dispatch and supervisors regarding assignments and scheduling.
  • Completes and submits daily logs and truck inspection reports in compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.
  • Inspects vehicle for defects and reports any safety concerns immediately.
  • Assists crews with general labor duties when needed.
  • Adheres to all company, client, and project safety policies, procedures, and standards.
