About The Position

Under minimal supervision, this role delivers presold product orders to supermarket clients on an assigned route. The product consists of Hispanic branded meats and cheeses. The driver is responsible for unloading product, stocking according to customer specifications, and collecting signed receipt documents. They also perform accounts receivable activities, including issuing and reviewing invoices and credit memos, and receiving payment for delivered products. Additionally, the driver must inspect and maintain the vehicle, ensuring all records, license plates, and insurance are current, and perform routine maintenance as required by company procedures and DOT/State regulations. Prompt reporting of any vehicle issues, accidents, or violations is essential. The role also involves participating in daily inventory and product return reconciliations with Administration and verifying that all scheduled product deliveries were completed.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of sales route experience
  • Fluent in Spanish and intermediate proficiency in English (DOT Requirement)
  • Valid driver’s license for state of residence
  • Vehicle insurance as required by state
  • MVR which meets Sigma driving standards
  • Able to work in a cold environment of approximately 34˚ F for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to sit and drive for a full shift of at least 8 hours
  • Able to climb up/down, in/out of truck cab and truck body
  • Able to stand for at least 4 hours
  • Can repeatedly lift and move 30-pound boxes/buckets on/off shelves or cart/hand-truck
  • Can repeatedly turn, twist, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push or pull to move 30 pounds
  • Able to repeatedly move 75-pound load on a cart/hand-truck without assistance

Responsibilities

  • Unload product at customers’ locations and stock according to customer specifications
  • Collect signed receipt documents from customers in accordance with company policy
  • Load truck at distribution center and acknowledge/sign receipt of product
  • Perform accounts receivable activities, including issuing and reviewing signed invoices and credit memos
  • Follow procedures for inventory proof of delivery and returns
  • Receive payment for product delivered
  • Inspect vehicle and maintain vehicle/driver records, current license plates and insurance
  • Perform routine maintenance as required by company procedures and DOT/State regulations
  • Promptly report any vehicle mechanical issues, accidents or driving violations
  • Participate with Administration in daily inventory and product return reconciliations
  • Verify all scheduled product deliveries were completed
