About The Position

Under the direction of the Sr. Warehouse Supervisor, the CDL Driver is responsible for driving between facilities with raw material, bulk materials and finished goods. When not driving between locations, the associate will support the warehouse. This role requires adherence to FMCSA safety regulations and DOT mandates. The driver will also be responsible for loading and unloading the truck, using a pallet jack, and ensuring all paperwork procedures are followed. Additionally, the driver will perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness, and support warehouse operations as needed, including operating a forklift or other equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Class A CDL license
  • Clean driving record
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations and safety standards
  • Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
  • Must be able to use an electric pallet jack and forklift to load and unload trucks (once certified)
  • Experience in forklift operation
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and use resources available
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Must comply with GMP requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours
  • Extended periods of sitting and driving for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience with tractor trailer driving preferred
  • Flexibility for overtime when needed

Responsibilities

  • Drive safely between site locations
  • Load and unload the truck at each location
  • Use pallet jack to safely move pallets on/off the truck
  • Follow company paperwork procedure concerning delivery to locations
  • Follow all FMCSA safety regulations as mandated by the DOT.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Ensure contents are correctly secured inside of truck or trailer to prevent breakage or damage
  • Drive vehicles over 26,000 lbs
  • Obtain signatures to confirm and complete pickup or deliveries with team, clients, suppliers
  • Confirm the contents of each shipment load matches the order document
  • Notify managers of any significant maintenance or pickup/delivery issues encountered
  • Perform inspections of vehicle before and following each trip
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, or violations immediately
  • Always ensure vehicle is kept clean and has required safety gear
  • Support the warehouse team as needed
  • Operate a forklift or other equipment when needed
  • Additional duties as assigned
