The Partial Care Program Driver transports Partial Care Program Participants to to and from home and the Partial Care program. This position also may transport meals, durable medical equipment, along with any other transportation as deemed necessary. This position may also serve meals, complete documentation of meals and other tasks as required. The Driver operates the van according to all established laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. This position dispatches and develops routes as needed. The Driver is also responsible for maintaining routine vehicle maintenance and inspection. The Driver assists in developing quality assurance studies based on customer service as well as departmental policy and procedures. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team-work and cooperation. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Commercial Driver's License required. Driving record meets insurance standards. American Heart Association BLS required within 90 days from hire or transfer. EXPERIENCE: Prior experience driving a van preferred. Specialty Certification Required Certification Preferred Acute Partial Hospitalization Program American Heart Association BLS required within 90 days hire or transfer American Heart Association Heart Saver First Aid (HSFA) required within 90 days hire or transfer CPI required within 90 days hire or transfer Active Commercial Driver's License required upon hire PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the technical competencies and essential functions as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position must be able to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team model, interfacing and collaborating with clinical and mental health disciplines who work together to manage the participants' care. Incumbents must be able to communicate with all staff, vendors, and clients. This position requires the ability to sit and drive a majority of the time and requires frequent bending and stooping. This position also requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination; the ability to use department equipment. This position also requires lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds. Using appropriate body mechanics and equipment, with reasonable accommodation if needed. Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
