About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for operating a commercial vehicle to transport materials safely and efficiently, loading and unloading materials using a forklift and by manually handling goods, inspecting the truck and equipment, maintaining accurate driver logs, preparing and processing delivery documentation, verifying shipment accuracy, coordinating with supervisors, securing cargo, and following all traffic laws and company safety policies. When not driving, you will also be responsible for housekeeping, packaging orders, internal material handling, and backfilling in Shipping and Receiving.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Strong basic math and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification (written, physical, and driving evaluation)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class A or B commercial vehicle to transport materials safely and efficiently
  • Load and unload materials using a forklift and by manually handling goods as needed
  • Inspect truck and equipment (tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and fluids) to ensure safe operation
  • Maintain accurate driver logs in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Prepare and process delivery documentation, including receipts and shipping paperwork
  • Verify shipment accuracy by checking items against bills of lading, invoices, and vendor paperwork
  • Coordinate with supervisors to receive delivery instructions and report status updates
  • Secure cargo to prevent damage during transport
  • Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area
  • Housekeeping, packaging orders, internal material handling, and backfilling in Shipping and Receiving
