About The Position

With minimal direct supervision, will operate a dump truck, with a capacity of at least 26,001 GVW on public streets and highways as well as construction sites to transport and deliver construction material or equipment. May be required to load and unload trucks. Must have valid CDL Class A, B and/or C North Carolina Driver's license, and any applicable endorsements, and pass and maintain NCDOT physical requirements.

Requirements

• Valid and current Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License and any applicable endorsements.
• Valid and current Medical Certification as required by USDOT.
• At least 21 years old.
• Current medical certification and card.
• Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience preferred.
• Experience hauling asphalt and milling operations.
• Knowledge of the difference between stock materials and hauling to plants or job sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate a dump truck on public streets, highways, and construction sites.
• Transport and deliver construction material or equipment.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections.
• Secure loads.
• Climb on, over and around company vehicles.
• Lift truck hoods, product, equipment, and tools.
• Assist shop personnel with repairs.
• Wash trucks and clean truck cabs.
• Work outside for extended periods during all seasons.
• Operate the vehicle in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner.
• Keep vehicle, cab interior and exterior clean.
• Read road signs and follow written or verbal directions.
• Maintain contact with managers via radio, GPS, or telephone.
• Work long, flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
• Maintain and keep operator logs and other required documentation.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as required or directed by supervisors.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
