About The Position

Sterling Crane LLC, a leader in the heavy lift industry, is seeking a CDL Crane Rigger for their Midland branch. As part of Marmon Holdings, backed by Berkshire Hathaway, this role involves working with a global industrial organization committed to making a positive impact and fostering a culture of empowerment. The Crane Rigger will collaborate closely with the crane operator, haul heavy equipment, and assist in building mobile cranes, reporting to the operations manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certified.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background/MVR that meets company requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and able to work effectively with others.
• Strong customer service skills to communicate with onsite project managers.
• Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, and measurements.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify safety issues.
• Must be willing to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all applicable rigging.
• Hauling heavy materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of rigging equipment capacity and weight limits.
• Signal crane operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions.
• Climb structures with safety harness to guide and position load.
• Ensures rigging is safe and reliable before engaging in hoisting and lifting.
