About The Position

The CDL Class B Driver transports mulch, compost, and soil mixes safely to company sites, retail locations, and customer addresses in the Kansas City, Missouri area and surrounding areas. The driver travels between terminal locations and follows dispatcher-provided invoices, directions, and special instructions. The role operates tandem and dump trucks in accordance with state and federal laws and company and DOT safety regulations. The position is full-time and may involve local and regional routes, weekdays, and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Possess a current Class A CDL in good standing with no restrictions and a current DOT medical card.
• Have a clean motor vehicle record, with no DUIs or major violations and no more than a combined three at-fault accidents or violations in the past three years.
• Hold an air brake endorsement.
• Have experience driving a tandem truck or dump truck.
• Be able to drive a manual transmission (stick shift).
• Pass extensive DOT drug screening, including urine, hair, and breath alcohol testing.
• Be willing to work Saturdays and Sundays.
• Be comfortable driving CDL tractor-trailers with 13 speeds or higher.
• Be in good physical condition and able to lift over 50 pounds and stand and sit for long periods.
• Submit to a criminal background check.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• CDL Class A experience or at least three years of CDL Class B driving experience.
• Experience operating commercial vehicles with live walking-floor trailers and/or moving floors.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport mulch, compost, and soil mixes to company sites, retail locations, and customer addresses in the Kansas City area and surrounding areas.
• Travel between terminal locations in and around the Kansas City area.
• Receive and follow dispatcher instructions, including invoices, job-site directions, and special instructions.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle and promptly report concerns or problems.
• Operate tandem and dump trucks in compliance with state and federal laws and company and DOT safety regulations.
