About The Position

Orica is hiring a CDL Class B Driver for its Orica USA Commercial team. This hands-on role operates Orica bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) to deliver and install blasting products for customers in mining, quarry, and construction environments. The position supports safe and efficient blasting operations through equipment operation, product delivery, preventative maintenance, and customer service. The hybrid role involves approximately 40% driving and 60% physical field work. Work is outdoors in varied environments and weather conditions and includes loading, delivering, and installing bulk explosive products at customer sites. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with local driving of 1–5 hours, early starts at 3:00 AM, and workdays of approximately 10–12 hours. Overtime may be needed, and up to 10% overnight travel may be required. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding work while supporting customers’ operational needs. Orica emphasizes conducting operations safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.

Requirements

Valid Class B CDL.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Solid understanding of DOT regulations.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent attention to detail and basic math skills for daily inventory tasks.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent situations.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials.
Ability to load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, climb on and off trucks, shovel gravel, push and pull equipment, and frequently bend, squat, and move throughout the workday.
Willingness to obtain additional endorsements; support will be provided.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience driving and/or handling materials.

Responsibilities

Safely operate Orica bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) to deliver and install blasting products.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking and refilling fluid levels.
Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks.
Handle, store, and use raw materials and hazardous goods in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control practices.
Immediately report unusual incidents or accidents.
Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
Load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and shovel gravel to fill drilled holes.
Provide high-quality service to customers.
