This position involves operating vehicles and equipment in a safe, professional manner. Driving time is 20-30% of the role, with the remainder dedicated to physical labor activities using hand tools, shovels, etc., outdoors with exposure to the elements. Responsibilities include coordinating and handling mechanical mechanisms for emulsion delivery, picking up and transporting goods, inventory, hazardous materials, and other cargo. The role requires maintaining driving and delivery logs, confirming load contents against manifest documents, and tracking/reporting working hours. It also involves loading/unloading and transporting materials and supplies, including overhead bin loading requiring fall protection. Operators will run mobile manufacturing units (MMUs) onsite at customer locations to create bulk products for blasting and must master the operation of Austin Powder bulk equipment to ensure consistent product quality. Daily tasks include completing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance needs to the Location Manager, and complying with all regulatory requirements for the delivery of bulk and packaged explosives. The role also involves operating mobile manufacturing equipment with precise chemical control and a hands-on approach to the daily operation and maintenance of Austin Powder locations and customer sites. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Valid Class-A or Class-B CDL license and cleaning driving record
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be able to read and interpret gauges and regulate gauges to correct standards.
Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including product usage and safety checks.
Trouble shooting, problem solving skills to fix issues in the field.
Must meet the requirements of all State and Federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor.
Ability to work non-traditional hours (starting very early)
High attention to detail to have accurate inventory record keeping.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Ability to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, product bulletins, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to identify products by sight.
Reliable transportation
Must be 21 years of age as required by the DOT
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements are highly preferred.
Unrestricted for operating manual transmissions is a plus.

Masters the operation of Austin Powder bulk equipment to create consistent quality in our products to enhance our customer experience.
Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and reports any maintenance requirements to Location Manager.
Comply with all regulatory requirements and company policies for the delivery of bulk and packaged explosives.
Operate mobile manufacturing equipment, which includes precise control of chemicals into the product.
Hands on approach in the daily operation and maintenance of the Austin Powder location and customer sites
Other duties as assigned.
