Full Time CDL Class B Delivery Driver
About The Position
American Welding and Gas, Inc. (AWG) has an immediate opportunity for a Class B CDL Delivery Driver in Rock Hill, SC. This position requires a Class B CDL with HazMat & Air Brake endorsements. The role involves loading, unloading, moving, and storage of gas and liquid cylinders and other hard good supplies, making deliveries to customers or other branches, and accurately filling out delivery tickets. AWG is a manufacturer and distributor of industrial gases and welding supplies, headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. They provide industrial, medical, specialty, and food and beverage gases across the United States and have a team of over 800 employees, over 100 retail locations, and 22 fill plants.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Class B CDL Required with Hazmat and Air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain both endorsements
- Clean driving record
- Able to read and write English
- Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.)
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, Back Assessment and company administered road test
- Ability to communicate with customers
Responsibilities
- Loading, unloading, moving and storage of gas and liquid cylinders and other hard good supplies
- Making deliveries to customers or other branches
- Filling out delivery tickets completely and accurately
- Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- Comply with all DOT+OSHA Regulations
- Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently
- Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicle
- Performs other duties as assigned
