JOB DETAILS Base pay starts at $29.00 per hour Shift: Day Shift, Monday through Friday DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to retail stores and construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. This is a hands-on delivery driving position Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer’s location and/ or return products Deliver material in “route truck/multi-drop” fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
  • 2 years of previous tractor-trailer driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
  • 1 year of flatbed experience
  • Valid Medical Card
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
  • Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work
  • Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
