Truck Driver - CDL Class A

About The Position

As a Truck Driver - CDL Class A, you will operate a tractor trailer that transports cargo daily to and from local customer locations. You will prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service. You will load, secure and unload cargo, and maintain a log of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations.

Requirements

Licenses/Certificates/Designations – CDL Class A required
High School Degree or equivalent preferred
2 years of experience operating a vehicle requiring a Class A CDL license
Must be 21 years of age or older
Satisfactory driving record
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to obtain forklift certification
Able to work in a team environment
Detail oriented
Customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally

Responsibilities

Prepares daily delivery schedule.
Selects and loads materials, verifying loads for accuracy, on the truck for delivery.
Delivers materials at locations designated by customer.
Assists with unloading and obtains customer’s signature for proof of delivery.
Maintains contact with dispatcher to receive instructions about scheduled delivery or pick up.
Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor trailer and maintains logs of vehicles condition and repair needs.
May perform the duties of Warehouse Associate when not driving the truck and making deliveries.
Performs functions necessary to keep warehouse neat and orderly.
