About The Position

Ajax Distributing is a family owned and operated distribution company for beer and non-alcoholic beverages in Clarksville, Paris, Memphis and surrounding areas. This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, located in Clarksville, TN. The role involves delivering product to retail accounts on a predetermined route for advance sales, complying with quality assurance policies and procedures, and ensuring the safe operation and care of assigned company equipment. The driver will maintain strong customer rapport, provide quality service, and effectively merchandise all products. Responsibilities include assuring quality standards through scheduled product rotation without direct supervision, delivering all products to scheduled accounts in good condition and within scheduled delivery time, and ensuring all brands and packages are rotated on a "first-in, first-out" basis in accordance with supplier requirements to safeguard against past-dated products. The driver must also abide by all local, state, and federal beverage codes, properly account for all cash/credit proceeds and products removed from inventories, accurately compute and record all transactions, and convey all related cash, checks, and documents to Route Audit at the conclusion of the work shift. Additionally, the role requires providing shelf merchandising to all stores upon request, assuring safe operation of the assigned vehicle by completing daily safety checks and submitting repair orders promptly, and maintaining the cab and bays of the truck in a neat and clean manner. The goal is to provide excellent rapport and positive exposure of product through quality service to ultimately increase product sales and market share. Other similar or related duties may be requested or assigned.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid Commercial Class A driver license and must maintain an acceptable driver record in compliance with DOT requirements.
Must have valid DOT Medical Card.
The employee must be able to lift/manipulate products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 170 lbs. when handling keg products
Able to push or pull carts that weigh up to 800lbs when loaded

Nice To Haves

One year of commercial driving experience is preferred.
Experience in beverage delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assure safe operation of assigned vehicle by completing vehicle safety check daily and/or completing repair order same day as problem is detected to avoid unnecessary repair cost and to comply with DMV regulations.
Maintain cab and bays of truck in a neat and clean manner at all times.
Provide excellent rapport and positive exposure of product through quality service to ultimately increase product sales and market share.
Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
