About The Position

60 Driving Academy is a CDL training school with more than 90 locations across 32 states. The CDL Class A Instructor Trainer teaches students practical Class A driving skills from their first pre-trip inspection through their CDL exam, both in outdoor training yards and on the road. Instructors train students on automatic and manual transmissions, help prepare them to meet CDL testing standards, and work with fellow instructors and a Lead Instructor to provide a consistent experience using the defined curriculum. The instructor is based at a designated yard and may occasionally cover other regional yards when needed. Yard upkeep, including litter pickup, basic painting, and general tidiness, is part of the role. The job also includes tracking student attendance and progress, maintaining training records and evaluations, reporting incidents and accidents, and helping transfer trucks to repair operations or neighboring yards. A 90-day probationary period is used to ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and curriculum requirements. The position is described as local, hands-on work that keeps instructors home every night, although occasional coverage at another regional yard may involve an overnight hotel stay.
