CDL Class A Instructor Trainer

160 Driving Academy•Pembroke Pines, FL
•$26 - $28•Onsite

About The Position

The CDL Class A Instructor Trainer teaches students the practical skills needed to pass their Class A CDL exam, from pre-trip inspections and yard maneuvers to on-road driving. Training takes place at a designated outdoor yard and includes instruction on automatic and manual transmissions. The instructor works with other instructors and a Lead Instructor to deliver a consistent student experience and follow the academy’s curriculum. Occasional coverage at other regional yards may be required, including possible overnight stays; per diem and mileage are paid for these trips as applicable. This is a local, hands-on role intended for experienced Class A drivers. Most yards operate Monday through Friday, either 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Higher-volume yards may operate seven days a week for ten hours a day, with alternative shifts that can include four-day work weeks. Reliable, punctual attendance is essential. The role also includes light upkeep to keep the yard and building clean and presentable, and a 90-day probationary period to assess adherence to safety, compliance, and curriculum requirements. Compensation includes an opportunity for annual merit increases based on business performance and a monthly shared bonus pool tied to first-time student pass rates. When the yard averages an 80% first-time pass rate, each first-time pass adds $100 to the pool, which is shared by the team and paid monthly; full bonus eligibility requires an average student rating of 4.7 out of 5. A $100 accident-free bonus is available for top 15 yards. Additional paid hours may be available for placement fairs and truck care during scheduled downtime.
