CDL Class A Instructor Trainer

160 Driving Academy•Tannersville, PA
•$28 - $30•Onsite

About The Position

60 Driving Academy is a nationwide CDL training school with more than 90 locations across 32 states. The CDL Class A Instructor Trainer teaches students practical Class A driving skills, from pre-trip inspections through CDL exam preparation, in outdoor yards and on the road. Training includes automatic and manual transmissions and takes place at a designated yard alongside other instructors and a Lead Instructor. Instructors may occasionally cover other regional yards when needed. The role includes monitoring student attendance and progress, maintaining training records and evaluations, reporting incidents and accidents, and following the defined curriculum and safety requirements. Instructors also help keep the yard and building clean and presentable, assist with moving trucks to repair operations or neighboring yards, and may provide coverage at nearby yards during emergencies. A 90-day probationary period is used to assess adherence to safety, compliance, and curriculum requirements. Most yards operate Monday through Friday, either 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Some higher-volume yards operate seven days a week for ten hours per day and may offer alternative shifts, including four-day work weeks. Occasional regional coverage may involve an overnight hotel stay; per diem and mileage are paid in the circumstances described. The position requires reliable attendance and the ability to climb in and out of a tractor cab, sit and stand for extended periods, and demonstrate driving maneuvers.
