CDL Class A Driver (Transport)
About The Position
The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) drives a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals. The role includes conducting and documenting vehicle inspections, completing mileage and maintenance forms, maintaining required certifications, washing the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily, and assisting other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 8:30 PM, with 10–15 hours of overtime expected each week. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $28.00–$35.50 per hour, based on experience. Starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. This is a full-time, nonexempt position. Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age.
- Hold a valid CDL Class A driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
- Good customer service and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Full range of motion, with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, or walking.
- Ability to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities
- Conduct a pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
- Submit the pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
- Drive between terminals to transport parcels.
- Maintain all required DOT and company safety certifications.
- Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
- Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed.
