CDL Class A Driver– Highway Construction
About The Position
GeoStabilization International (GSI), Access Limited, and RoadGuard form an infrastructure solutions platform focused on protecting people and strengthening critical infrastructure across North America and New Zealand. The businesses provide geohazard mitigation, steep-slope and geotechnical solutions, and roadway safety services. The CDL Class A Driver transports trucks, equipment, and materials to guardrail installation projects. This hands-on construction role combines commercial driving with supporting the crew at the jobsite. The driver reports to the Colorado Springs location each Monday and travels with the crew during the workweek. Candidates must live within commuting distance and be prepared to stay out of town Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least two years of commercial driving experience.
- Experience securing and transporting equipment or construction materials.
- Willingness to perform physical construction work in addition to driving.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to commute to the Colorado Springs location and travel overnight Monday through Friday.
Nice To Haves
- Heavy equipment operation experience.
- Guardrail installation or heavy highway construction experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge, including hydraulic or pneumatic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive company trucks and transport equipment and materials to and from jobsites.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Load, unload, and properly secure equipment and materials.
- Maintain required driving and inspection records.
- Follow applicable DOT requirements and company safety procedures.
- Assist the crew with guardrail layout, setup, and installation.
- Use hand and power tools and assist with manual digging and other physical tasks as needed.
- Work closely with the foreman and crew to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
