About The Position

The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) operates a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. The role involves completing a Monday-through-Friday route, beginning at 7:30 AM and continuing until route completion. An additional 10–15 hours of overtime is expected each week, with overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $24.00–$30.75 per hour, based on experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for CDL Class A drivers. The position is full-time and nonexempt. Drivers conduct vehicle inspections, maintain required documentation and certifications, deliver and collect freight, and assist other drivers as needed. The role requires operating a manual transmission, meeting company driving standards, passing a DOT physical, and handling freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license and have a driving record that meets company standards.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Have good customer service and organizational skills.
Be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Be able to pass a DOT physical.
Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Have full range of motion for grasping, standing, squatting, climbing stairs, walking, and related activities, with no limits.
Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct a pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Submit the pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Deliver palletized freight to customers in a timely manner and pick up freight from shippers.
Verify that all load-related documentation is complete and accurate.
Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bills of lading to the office for billing.
Maintain all certifications required by the DOT and company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, deliveries, or pickups as needed.
