This role involves performing material handling, loading and unloading materials, reconciling material requirements with shipping lists, performing daily vehicle inspections, operating an onboard recording system, delivering products using a piggy-back trailer mounted forklift, and providing excellent customer service. The position requires frequent standing, lifting, bending, and moving of heavy products (60+ pounds) and may involve exposure to varying temperatures. The driver will also be responsible for inspecting and cleaning the vehicle, assisting with inventory management, performing housekeeping activities, and working in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication abilities.
Ability to lift and move heavy items, often requiring the use of equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
Ensuring orders are processed accurately and inventory is managed correctly.
Efficiently organizing stock and maintaining a clean workspace.
Collaborating with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic computer skills.
Transport goods to various destinations, often across state lines.
Load, secure, and unload cargo safely.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of working hours and miles driven.
Perform regular inspections and maintenance of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
Monitor traffic and weather conditions to ensure safe driving practices.
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

Perform material handling activities to include loading and unloading material on a trailer by hand, forklift or overhead crane.
Reconcile material requirements with shipping list to ensure delivery is correct and obtain appropriate customer signatures to verify receipt.
Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of tractor and trailer and have deficiencies corrected if vehicle is not safe to operate.
Operate an onboard recording system and adhere to company policies, D.O.T. regulations, and all federal, state and local traffic laws while driving.
Deliver products during the day through the use of a piggy-back trailer mounted forklift (training available) at customer job sites and locations.
Provide courteous, prompt, and professional customer service at all times.
Inspect and clean the vehicle to make sure that all functions are working correctly, safely, and good appearance is maintained.
Assist in inventory management activities to include cycle counts.
Perform cleaning and housekeeping activities.
Perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
