About The Position

Harbor Division has been a long-standing staple in the trucking community since 1986. We continue to move forward with drayage increases and are currently recruiting for Port Drivers for day ($30.00/hour) and night shifts ($35.00/hour). We offer newer low mileage tractors, home daily, no-Touch freight, drop and hook.

Requirements

  • Possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL
  • Possess and maintain a valid TWIC card
  • Meet I-9 requirements
  • Must have safe and clean MVR with no major convictions
  • 24 months verifiable tractor/trailer driving experience within the previous 36 months
  • Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and DOT regulations
  • Ability to read, speak and write the English language in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Ability to perform functions of job description
  • 2 years experience of local drayage in and out of the Ports of LA/LB and rail yards
  • Must pass background screen, DOT drug screen (No prior positive or controlled substance tests at previous employers, No alcohol or control substance refusals at prior employers) and DOT physical examination with a minimum expiration of one year.
  • Pass Company road test
  • Interpersonal skills with ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points
  • Proficient with smartphones

Responsibilities

  • Operates a semi-truck according to all applicable state and federal transportation laws
  • Pick-up and delivery of ocean containers, verify loads/empties for accuracy and deliver as instructed
  • Maintain truck maintenance logs; comply with all safe work practices, policies at all times. Report damage, defects accidents, traffic violations to Manager by completing DVIR and pre-trip on tractors
  • Complete and verify accuracy of dispatch manifest to be turned daily
