About The Position

The essential responsibilities of the CDL Class A Driver include safe and timely delivery of materials to customer job sites while ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards. This role includes performing vehicle inspections, following assigned delivery routes, unloading and placing materials as needed, and accurately documenting deliveries using company systems. The driver must be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks and providing excellent customer service on job sites.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Valid DOT Medical Card.
  • Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Experience operating a Forklift and Moffett Lift required.
  • Highly productive team player with a strong sense of urgency and a hands-on approach; able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills, with a strong customer service focus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and accuracy.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use handheld devices and delivery applications.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions, troubleshoot issues, and adjust routes as needed.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Boom Truck operating experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer using a standardized checklist to ensure safe and compliant operation.
  • Accurately complete and maintain mileage logs and driving records located in assigned vehicles.
  • Safely operate a CDL Class A vehicle to transport materials along assigned delivery routes according to daily schedules.
  • Follow established delivery schedules and routes, adjusting as needed based on traffic, site conditions, or business needs.
  • Utilize the company’s DQ system to document deliveries, including capturing proof-of-delivery photos and confirming completion of deliveries.
  • Load and unload materials, including independently unloading deliveries when assistance is not available.
  • Manually move, carry, and stock materials at job sites and within structures as required by customer needs.
  • Transport and place materials such as drywall and other building products in designated areas on job sites.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials weighing 80lbs. or more.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and job site safety requirements at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, yard personnel, customers, and supervisors to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Assist with general yard or warehouse tasks as needed and directed by the warehouse supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
