About The Position

Ascentek provides an environment where you can love what you do and be your best every day. This role is for a CDL Shuttle Driver who will act as a Road Shuttle Driver & Yard Jockey. The primary responsibility is to transport finished goods or raw material trailers between Ascentek's warehouses and customers within the metro area. Additional duties include monitoring trailer inventory and performing material handler functions such as forklift loading and unloading of trailers within the warehouse. The weekly driving schedule will involve rotating into yard driver duties as part of a team rotation.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Possess a current DOT Medical certification card
Meets all D.O.T. qualifications in accordance with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations, Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations
Carry hazmat endorsement
Must be able to effectively communicate to maintain positive relations with team members
Capable of standing, walking, and repeatedly climbing into and out of truck tractor or forklift several times throughout the day.
Ability to lift 50lbs periodically
Comfortable using smart devices
No more than 3 moving violations in the last 36 months or 2 in the last 12 months
No DWI or DUI in the past 5 years

Nice To Haves

2 years driving experience within the last 5 years
Excellent customer service skills
Prior forklift experience

Responsibilities

Transporting loaded trailer of materials between Ascentek & supplier facilities
Moving trailers in and out of dock doors and/or repositioning trailers within parking lot
Maintain trailer inventory and updates on DOT dates as needed
Comply with DOT hours of service rules and maintain truck operation in full compliance with DOT regulations
Utilize driver paper logbooks as needed
Operating a forklift and completing warehouse functions
Monitoring trailer inventory
Forklift loading and unloading of trailers within the warehouse
