About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery, a family-owned company established in 1978, is seeking a CDL Class A Driver for Less Than Truckload (LTL) operations. The primary role involves driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck to transport and pick up palletized freight and large shipments throughout the Midwest. The company headquarters is in St. Cloud, MN, and they employ over 1,800 people.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Must possess good customer service and organizational skills.
Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
Ability to work with all types of freight including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Drive a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.
Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.
Turn in pre-trip forms and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Deliver palletized freight to customers and pick up freight from shippers in a timely manner.
Verify all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings for billing.
Maintain all required certifications mandated by DOT and company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed.
