About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery, a family-owned company established in 1978, is seeking a CDL Class A Driver for Less Than Truckload (LTL) deliveries. The company specializes in standard, next-day ground delivery and has expanded throughout the Midwest from its headquarters in St. Cloud, MN. The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck to transport and deliver palletized freight and large shipments.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record meeting company standards.
Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Must possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Full range of motion including grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, and walking.
Ability to work with various types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Good customer service and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure mechanical and safety equipment are in good working order.
Submit pre-trip forms and complete mileage and maintenance documentation.
Deliver palletized freight to customers and pick up freight from shippers in a timely manner.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of all load-related documentation.
Collect payment for shipments and return bills of lading for billing.
Maintain all required DOT and company safety certifications.
Perform daily washing of the tractor and equipment exterior.
Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick-up tasks as needed.
