Local CDL Class A Delivery Driver HazMat
About The Position
Metro Welding Supply Corporation is seeking a local CDL Class A Delivery Driver with a HazMat endorsement to deliver industrial and medical gases throughout Michigan and northern Ohio. This is a hands-on delivery role, not a drop-and-hook position. Drivers load, unload, and safely handle compressed-gas cylinders using provided equipment. Routes are local, with no overnight travel or weekend work, and consistent weekday schedules. The role is based in Detroit, Michigan, and pays $28–$30 per hour based on experience. Metro Welding Supply is a family-owned Detroit company and Southeast Michigan’s largest independent welding gas distributor. Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a HazMat endorsement.
- Clean driving record and strong safety history.
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience.
- Ability to lift and move more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical work throughout the day, including loading, unloading, and moving gas cylinders.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver gas cylinders and welding equipment to customer locations.
- Load, secure, and unload delivery vehicles.
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Complete deliveries accurately, safely, and on schedule.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service at every stop.
- Follow DOT regulations and company safety procedures at all times.
