About The Position

SA Recycling is one of the largest scrap metal recyclers in the United States and is experiencing significant growth. We are looking for a CDL Class A/B Roll-off Driver to join our team. Safety is our top priority. The primary role of the Truck Driver is to transport materials efficiently. This involves driving a semi-truck to customer locations to pick up full containers of scrap metal and deliver empty ones. Drivers are expected to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and their staff, adhere to all DOT Regulations, and follow in-yard rules for safe operation in confined spaces and with traffic controllers. Seat belt usage is mandatory at all times while driving, and drivers must be visible on camera.

Requirements

• Must have 3 years of CDL Driving experience with consistent job history.
• Must pass a medical DOT physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check, clean MVR with no recent violations, and consent to Clearinghouse.
• Must be 21 to apply.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload containers hauling scrap metal.
• Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
• Communicate with the office and customers to determine commodities to load.
• Work independently when driving scrap metal.
• Work with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise.
• Collaborate with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform normal daily operation maintenance, including refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
• Clean up work area at the end of the shift.
• Keep work areas neat and orderly.
• Organize materials for more effective use of space.
• Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
• Inspect to ensure cleanup is completed.
• Maintain effective housekeeping in the workplace area as an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.
