About The Position

Pitney Bowes is hiring a CDL B Truck Driver in Hartford, Connecticut. This is a full-time, direct hire position with 2 job slots available. The pay is $24.50 per hour, paid weekly, with possible overtime. Workdays are Monday through Friday with occasional weekends. The start time varies between 7:30 AM and 2 PM EST, with 8-10 hours of work per day based on business needs.

Requirements

• Must be minimum 21 years in age.
• Ability to drive a CDL Straight/Box Truck or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class B state motor vehicle operator’s license in the state where the driver resides and meets applicable DOT requirements for CDL.
• Must have a minimum of 6 months verifiable Straight/Box Truck driving experience in similar sized vehicles (i.e., Straight Truck) within the last 3 years with a safe driving record.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop and bend with or without accommodation.
• Basic Computer skills and ability to read a map and understand directions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for picking up and delivering mail from our customers.
• Inspect products to verify conformance to customer specifications, and USPS regulations.
• Ensure that the mail is reviewed for proper dates and a pickup slip is attached with each order prior to loading the truck.
• Performing warehouse duties include wrapping pallets, stacking trays, and loading trucks.
• Maintains daily driver’s log for mileage and cargo.
• Maintain documentation for customer pickups such as collecting signatures and tracking/documenting mail counts and assisting with mail related questions.
• Keeps vehicle, production floor, and area clean.
• Other duties as assigned.
