About The Position

Pitney Bowes is seeking a CDL A Truck Driver for the 2nd Shift at their Presort facility in Hartford, Connecticut. This role involves local deliveries and pick-ups with daily home time. The hourly pay is $29.50, paid weekly, with potential for overtime. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a start time that varies between 7:30 AM and 2:00 PM EST. Flexibility for occasional overtime and weekends is required.

Requirements

Minimum of 21 years in age.
Valid Class A License and meet applicable DOT requirements for CDL.
Minimum of 6 months’ verifiable driving experience driving a tractor trailer (semi) truck with a safe driving record.
Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop, and bend with or without accommodation.
Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice.

Responsibilities

Inspect assigned vehicles daily per Pitney Bowes Presort Services pre-trip inspection guidelines and procedures, reporting any defects to the Transportation Supervisor for immediate repair.
Maintain a daily driver’s log or route sheet for mileage, stops, and cargo, or utilize the ELD system.
Maintain pickup and delivery schedules, meeting deadlines using software tools.
Keep vehicles and work areas clean.
Return client-damaged or undeliverable mail, following internal handling procedures for damaged secured mail.
Know and understand safety and security precautions, and follow company policies.
Maintain regular attendance.
Use all required cell phone applications.
