CDL B Local Delivery Truck Driver

About The Position

Sysco is hiring a dependable local CDL B Delivery Truck Driver to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload and deliver products—including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies—to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Drivers build customer relationships through a positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with customer operations to meet their needs and expectations. The role involves touch freight and may require overtime, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require. Most Driver Trainees have daily routes and are home nightly.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must pass employment testing.
Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) and a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
Must be able to handle touch freight, including lifting, pushing, or moving products averaging 40–60 pounds and weighing as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

One year of customer delivery experience preferred.
Six months of hand cart or hand truck experience preferred.
Six months of food and beverage experience preferred.
Two years of consistent work history preferred.
