About The Position

The CDL B Driver transports, removes, delivers, and collects liquid and solid wastes from customer sites. The driver loads and unloads trucks and may operate box trucks and other on-site equipment compatible with their license. The role involves securing cargo, conducting equipment and load inspections, maintaining required records, and communicating with customers, the public, coworkers, and supervisors. The position requires indoor and outdoor work and may require overtime.

Requirements

• Valid CDL B license.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a drug screen before starting.
• Organizational skills and strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
• Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 75+ lbs.
• Availability to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, preparing equipment and following safe practices and applicable acts and regulations.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Work with government documents such as manifests.
• Perform trip inspections on operated equipment and loads to confirm safety and roadworthiness.
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, following crew signals and ensuring the vehicle and loading equipment are correctly positioned.
• Check load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with the public, customers, and coworkers.
• Inspect loads before, during, and after delivery to confirm they are properly fastened and secure.
• Provide supervisors with feedback about customer, mechanical, or delivery problems.
• Train others when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
