About The Position

The WMHS Route Driver provides high levels of service to clients and handles their document destruction needs. The role includes transporting supplies and materials in accordance with company policy and applicable laws, as well as loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and securing cargo for transport. Drivers perform onsite and offsite destruction of confidential information, service assigned customer routes, and maintain the security and accuracy of collected materials and service records. The position is safety sensitive and requires compliance with safety protocols and applicable driver regulations.

Requirements

• Three years of experience, preferably in driving shred trucks or box trucks and managing routes.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B.
• Ability to obtain a medical card from a certified medical examiner.
• May be required to obtain mandatory immunizations and credentials based on customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite and offsite destruction of confidential information.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip checks and check in on the assigned truck; report maintenance issues to Transportation or the Dispatcher.
• Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and equipment damage risks.
• Comply with local, state, and federal driver-fitness and hours-of-service laws, and complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
• Securely service consoles and collection totes, ensuring all documents are retrieved and containers are locked.
• Use a handheld device to service accounts and verify container barcodes, locations, types, and quantities.
• Manage assigned routes and collect and service customers’ confidential material accurately and on time.
• Respond to customer problems and inquiries promptly and in the best interests of the customer and WMHS.
• Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
