CDL A Truck Driver
About The Position
American Trucking Group is hiring CDL A Truck Drivers for regional, super regional, and over-the-road routes. Weekly earnings range from $1,200 to $1,500, depending on position and miles. Regional drivers earn $1,200 per week while averaging 2,500–2,600 miles; super regional drivers earn $1,300–$1,400 per week while averaging 2,600–2,800 miles; and OTR drivers earn $1,500 per week while averaging 3,000 miles. Home-time schedules are reliable and drivers may choose where to take their home time. Regional drivers are out 7–9 days and receive one day at home for every seven days out. Super regional drivers are out 14 days and home for two days. OTR drivers are out three weeks and home for three days. Drivers operate automatic Kenworth T680 trucks equipped with Smart Idle, a bunk heater, a double bunk, and a 1500-watt inverter. Trucks are serviced every six months. Most freight is 85–90% drop and hook; for loads requiring unloading, the company provides an electric floor jack and pays drivers for that work. The company has 30 terminals nationwide, 15 of which include gyms, truck washes, and laundry facilities. New hires attend a three-day orientation in Joplin, Missouri; Dallas, Texas; or Atlanta, Georgia. Travel is covered with a rental car or Greyhound, with Uber to the hotel if needed.
Responsibilities
- Drive regional, super regional, or over-the-road routes and cover the associated mileage.
- Handle freight, which is mostly drop and hook; unload loads when required using a company-provided electric floor jack.
- Attend a three-day orientation at one of the listed locations.
