About The Position

Target is seeking a CDL A Tractor Trailer Driver to operate tractors/trailers over the road for store deliveries and vendor pick-ups. This role is crucial for getting products to guests quickly and efficiently. The driver will be responsible for safely backing up trailers, hooking and unhooking, completing required DOT logs and reports, and performing routine safety inspections. The position requires a focus on safety procedures and timely completion of tasks to meet promises to vendors and guests. Job duties may change based on business needs.

Requirements

Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain.
Able to pass all of the Department of Transportation (DOT) tests and screening process.
Knowledge of and compliance with all applicable DOT regulations.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift and carry materials/equipment up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs infrequently.
Ability to work independently to quickly and safely resolve problems.
Understanding of the functions of tractors and trailers and their systems, with the specific ability to complete pre and post-trip inspections, including brakes.
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Drive and operate tractors/trailers over the road in a safe and efficient manner.
Make store deliveries and/or vendor pick-ups.
Skillfully back up trailers into various dock and yard locations.
Hook and unhook trailers.
Complete logs, trip reports, bills of lading, etc., as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Target.
Focus on safety procedures and protocols.
Perform routine safety inspections of vehicles.
Complete job tasks accurately and on time.
Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
