About The Position

Target is seeking a CDL A Tractor Trailer Driver to operate tractors/trailers over the road, making store deliveries and vendor pick-ups. This role requires skillful backing of trailers, hooking and unhooking, and completing necessary logs and reports in compliance with DOT regulations. A strong focus on safety procedures, including routine vehicle inspections, is essential. The driver will accurately and efficiently complete job tasks to meet delivery promises to vendors and guests. This position is part of the Distribution Center Operations, focusing on logistics and ensuring product reaches the guest quickly.

Requirements

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain.
• Able to pass all of the Department of Transportation (DOT) tests and screening process.
• Knowledge of and compliance with all applicable DOT regulations.
• Able to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Understand the functions of tractors and trailers and their systems, with the specific ability to complete pre and post-trip inspections, including brakes.
• Able to work independently to quickly and safely resolve problems.
• Able to lift and carry materials/equipment up to 30 lbs frequently and able to lift and carry equipment up to 60 lbs infrequently.
• Maintains positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate tractors/trailers over the road in a safe and efficient manner.
• Make store deliveries and/or vendor pick-ups.
• Skillfully back up trailers into all types of dock and yard locations.
• Hook and unhook trailers.
• Complete logs, trip reports, bills of lading, etc., as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Target.
• Focus on safety procedures and protocols.
• Perform routine safety inspections of vehicles.
• Complete job tasks assigned accurately and on time.
