About The Position

Oak Harbor Freight Lines is seeking local and regional linehaul drivers to operate tractor-trailer combinations between terminals or meeting points across its service area of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and California. The position involves drop-and-hook freight and no-touch freight. Drivers are paid by mileage, with experienced drivers starting at $0.80 per mile or $34.41 per hour, and receive pay for each drop, hook, chain, fuel stop, and wait time. Drivers are home nightly on most routes. Weekend and night work may be required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent, consecutive, verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience.
• Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements at the time of application.
• At least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record, with no DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the past three years.
• Strong communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management.
• Basic English proficiency for reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations between terminals or meeting points.
• Navigate challenging road conditions, including inclement weather.
• Consistently meet reliability and safety standards.
• Be prepared to chain up as needed.
• Work weekends and/or nights if required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
